Incentives
U.K. Feed-In Tariffs (Clean Energy Cash Back)
Feed in Tariffs (Clean Energy Cash Back) were introduced by the Government as a mechanism to scale up the deployment of renewable technologies and as a financial incentive to farmers, land owners, commercial and domestic electricity users in the UK for generating their own renewable energy.
From 1st December 2012, customers of small wind turbines will receive 21p per kWh of electricity that they generate even if using the electricity themselves – in addition customers will also receive 4.5p for every kWh deemed as exported to the grid. The export is paid at 50% of your total generation.
This incentive offers customers a fantastic return on investment as well as protection from rising costs of electricity purchased from the grid as this can now be off-set from generating your own renewable energy.
How do the Feed-In Tariffs help?
The Tariffs have three financial benefits:
- A payment for all the electricity you produce, even if you use it yourself
- Additional payments for electricity you export into the grid or is deemed as export (50% of total generation)
- A reduction on your standard electricity bill, from using energy you produce yourself
Who is eligible?
Anyone who installs an approved product under the MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) can receive Feed in Tariff's provided the technology is installed and commissioned by an MCS certified installer.
Kingspan Wind's Installer network in the UK are all MCS Certified Installers, therefore, are fully approved to install your Kingspan Wind turbine to register your site to claim the FiT incentive.
